Managing Ammonia Slip in SCR Systems - Troubleshooting and Solutions

We’ve been encountering high ammonia slip in our SCR system, and it’s been tough to manage. Despite optimizing ammonia injection rates, we’re still seeing excessive slip during high-load operations. I suspect there may be an underlying cause we haven’t addressed yet. Any suggestions?

One possibility is that your ammonia flow control system isn’t responding quickly enough to load changes. We had to calibrate our injection system more frequently to ensure it was adapting to the changing flow conditions.

Have you considered whether duct burners might be contributing to the issue? We experienced a similar problem where unburned hydrocarbons from the duct burners were affecting the NOx reduction process, leading to ammonia slip.
