HRSG Tube Material Selection: What Works Best for You?

We’re evaluating materials for HRSG tubes in a new combined cycle plant. What’s your goto material for withstanding high temps and minimizing corrosion?

We’ve had great success with T91 alloy for high-pressure zones. It’s expensive but worth it for the long-term durability. Make sure you have a robust water treatment program to maximize its life.

T22 works well in low-pressure areas, but I wouldn’t recommend it for high-temp zones. T91 or even INCONEL for extreme conditions is the way to go. Just be prepared for the cost!

Agree with @MaterialGuruAlice—match the material to the operating conditions. Also, factor in your cycling frequency. Some alloys handle thermal stress better than others.
