Fuel Pressure Instability: Diagnosing the Root Cause

We’ve been experiencing intermittent drops in fuel pressure on one of our turbines, causing combustion instability. What’s the best way to identify and address the root cause?

Start with the fuel supply line. Check for blockages or leaks, especially around valves and connections.

Monitor your pressure regulators. A malfunctioning regulator can cause sudden drops, especially during load changes.

Don’t overlook the fuel filters. Clogging due to poor fuel quality is a common culprit for pressure instability.
